The classroom environments I design speak volumes about who I am and what I value as a teacher. Are they friendly and welcoming places? Do students feel like they have ownership? Are the walls gray like in prisons or colorful like in coffee shops? I try my hardest to create positive settings that promote learning.

It is important to give students opportunities to go beyond the boundaries of the classroom. They need to see how what they are learning connects to the real world in a meaningful way. They also need time to socialize, have fun, and get out of their every day bubbles and routines. That's why I love organizing and taking kids on field trips and doing community service projects!
